dc.description.abstractThe study will provide the government and the ministry with valuable information regarding to major barriers that are hindering the implementation of green procurement and the recommendations of the study will help policy makers in formulating legislatives that are in line with the spirit of the 2002 World Summit on sustainable Development and Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. The findings will contribute to new body of knowledge and shall also pave way for future researches to other students. This research will provide valuable and unique contribution to green procurement literature. The research is going to focus on factors that are affecting implementation of green procurement at MLGPW. The research is going to be covered between the periods of 2015 to 2016 There is limited time for carrying out the research and data collection from respondents. Inaccurate data may be supplied to the researcher and also the results from the research cannot be generalised to other manufacturing industries. Sustainable procurement-is about socially and ethically responsible purchasing, minimizing environmental impact through the supply chain, delivering economically sound solutions and good business practice. Public procurement is the acquisition of goods and services and works by a procuring entity using public funds. The chapter the background to the study, statement of the problem, research objectives, and research questions, assumption of the research, significance of the study and definition of terms.
